APICS Columbus October PDM - a successful story of S&OP Process

Dear valued APICS members,

Our next PDM is approaching fast (next Tuesday 10/16). If you have not registered, we encourage you to do it as soon as possible. Enjoy a night of networking and learning from other supply chain professionals. We will have dinner at the 94th Aero Squadron at 5:30 PM followed by a presentation. Register here to reserve your seat.

In this global age, it’s a buyers’ market and companies must find their competitive advantage to stay ahead.  Demand can be both steady and consistent for some products but volatile and fast paced in others, and we have to try and figure how to accommodate both with often the same manufacturing process and people.

Sales and Operations Planning has become crucial to meeting customer demand while running efficiently and cost effectively in production.  S&OP provides focus to sales and production as well as that buffer within the supply chain, allowing the links to be better planners and focus on costs, quality, and continuous improvements.

Ingrid Yoder, CPIM, CSCP is the Supply Chain Manager for McWane Ductile, a private manufacture of ductile iron pipe located in Coshocton, Ohio.  She has been with McWane since 1993 and has had the opportunity of working with teams to reduce lead times, decrease inventories, optimize available capacity with storage and in production, and starting the international purchasing program in the company. S&OP has allowed McWane Ductile- Ohio to find their competitive advantage even with the many changes and challenges in the past 10 years.

Ingrid is married and received her MBA from The Ohio State with a BSB in Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Phoenix.  She sits on her local United Way Board and her County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  She loves to travel, enjoys baseball and attending concerts.

Thank you,

APICS Columbus team
